Hey family!
During this pandemic, so many of us have gone through the motions!
From trying to do a new skill, to finally getting to rest, to realising they have hidden talents and much more.
If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen that recently I’ve decided to take my hair care seriously. A few years ago I suffered from severely low iron and as a result, I experienced hair loss! Thankfully my iron levels are better and my hair started to grow back. But I needed a boost!
So during this pandemic, I have decided to go through a hair journey and share my hints and tips and learnings with you.
On my Instagram, I have shared two things so far that I will incorporate in my hair journey.
Protein treatments and my moisturising routine
In this blog I will focus on my moisturising routine.
Below are a few of the products I use to keep my hair moisturised. To view my moisturising routine scroll down and view my latest IGTV video.
1. Step 1 L = liquid.
I use a 2 step liquid routine. Firstly, The I use water! Yes you heard me! I make sure I filter my water first as British water can be hard on the hair and use a spray bottle to run it through my hair. At times I may add a few drops of some leave in conditioner to my water as I spray my hair with water daily
I also use a water based leave in conditioner. Recently I purchased the As I am long & luxe leave in conditioner and it’s bee great so far
2. Step 2 – C= Cream
One of my favourite creams at the moment is the Keracare oil moisturiser with Jojoba oil! It works wonders for my hair. I have low porosity hair (this means my hair isn’t easily moisturised) so it’s great for keeping in moisture!
3. Step 3 – O is for oil
I am currently testing out oils. At the moment I am using avocado oil and black castor oil. I also put a little tea tree oil in there for an extra boost. So far so good
In a bottle I mix 3 caps of Jamaican black castor oil
I then mix 6 cap fills of avocado oil
And 3 drops of tea tree oil
Or on prime
The method I use is know as the LCO method. For me, this is the best method for sealing the moisture in my natural hair.
